HEATON Stannington’s dreams of the reaching the second round for the first time since 1981 were ended by Eccleshill in a seven-goal thriller at Grounsell Park.
The visitors got off to a dream start when Stan keeper Dan Regan brought down Ellis Wade and following a brief consultation, Andrew Cooper fired home the spot-kick. Heaton Stannington almost equalised through Liam McBryde, whose bullet header was tipped over by goalkeeper Thomas Kirkland.
