■ BATTLING Leicester Road caused an upset against their higher-level opposition in Newcastle Town.
The visitors almost took an early lead, but Dom Breunan was denied by Town’s keeper Owen Mooney, on loan from Wigan, before Leicester Road’s Will Highland kept his side level, first of all saving a penalty from James Askey and saving a terrific effort from Will Gibbons.
Neither side could get on top, but Leicester Road came closest when Brennan fired narrowly over.
