A frenetic game at the Boldmere Community Stadium was decided by a diving one-handed save as Adam Harrison took the Mikes into the next round with a brilliant shootout performance.
Harrison clawed St.Ives Town’s fourth penalty away and onto the post after a chaotic encounter that suited neither side.
Boldmere opened the scoring straight after the break, a curving Connor Armstrong 20-yard free-kick evading a four-man wall, and By Hugh Baker flying into the net just inside the left-hand post.
