JOHN Murphy came off the bench to help himself to a hat-trick and see Prescot Cables progress at the expense of Vauxhall Motors.
It was James Foley who opened the scoring after nine minutes when the visitors failed to clear their lines.
Murphy got his first of the evening just seven minutes before the break when he expertly fired home at the near post.
Vauxhall halved the deficit just after the restart when St Milne chipped Tony Thompson to make it 2-1.
