Sandgrounders stand strong in stalemate

LEADERS Tamworth were held in this stalemate.
It was the home side who had the better of the chances with Walton, Carver and Watson going close in the first half. The best chance of all fell to Quansah in first half stoppage time who headed narrowly wide from a Morgan corner.
In a game littered with nine yellow cards, a red for Southport manager Jim Bentley together with a 48th minute red for Tamworth defender Willetts, the visitors will have been happy to take the point home.
