Andy Preece hopes keeping the exit door bolted this summer will help Chorley in the long run.
The Magpies have consistently punched above their weight under boss Preece and that’s seen a number of their players picked off in the off-season in recent years.
But pinning down players to two-year deals – or one-year contracts with an option in the club’s favour – has meant a far calmer summer.
