A GAME that had so much hype and anticipation unravelled quickly for Chester. Just nine minutes in and Jack Bainbridge was given his marching orders after a late, lunging challenge that caught Billy Whitehouse.
With the man advantage, Chorley pressed forward and created chances. Mark Ellis headed straight at Andrew Wogan before Jack Sampson and Tom Carr both fired efforts wide.
George Horbury’s header from an Adam Blakeman cross was cleared off the line by James Jones right on half-time, Chester holding firm under pressure.
