Gill’s Romans looking to build a promotion push

Bath City

Rome certainly wasn’t built in a day but Jerry Gill’s restructuring mission at Bath City is rapidly developing solid foundations.
The Romans are flying high in the National League South and a victory at promotion rivals Woking two weeks ago put further credence to the idea that Bath City should be considered one of the dark horses in Step Two this season.
Since moving into the hot seat at Twerton Park 12 months ago, Gill has helped to usher in a seemingly new and exciting era in North Somerset and the former Weymouth boss is delighted with how his side have hit the ground running this season.
“I have looked to change the philosophy of what we do on the pitch quite dramatically and so far everything is going in the right direction” Gill told The NLP.
“The objective over the summer was to get the right sort of characters into the building and I think we have succeeded in that area.
“We have a really nice blend in the squad now, from players who have come from the Football League like Ryan Brunt and Sean Rigg, to players who have joined from lower divisions like Joe Raynes and Andy Mann, as well as individuals who know this club inside out such as Frankie Artus and Andy Watkins”.
