■SLOUGH Town finally got their season up and running with their first points.
Ruben Shakpoke fired the only goal early in the second half, with victory no more than the Rebels deserved – only an extraordinary performance from the Stag’s keeper Ryan Gosney kept the scoreline down.
Slough’s Kyle Brooks almost scored within 15 seconds but his shot was saved. They had the better of the first half and just before the interval Joe Morrison came close with a volley that flew just wide.
