HITCHIN prevailed in this battle of the basement, following a tough, no nonsense match, played at a hectic pace throughout.
The Waders began with intent with the pace of Cyrus Babale-Gumbs and Daniel Izekor proving effective.
But Hitchin opened the scoring after seventeen minutes, when Rio Deall received a through ball that afforded him a one on one, and he coolly finished.
Izekor had an almost identical chance for Biggleswade but inexplicably wasted the opportunity, which proved expensive for the visitors.
