MACCLESFIELD extended their lead at the top to 13 points with a dramatic stoppage time winner from Alex Curran.
Dan Sweeney opened the scoring in the 37th minute, rising above the Runcorn defence to head home and give the Silkmen a much needed advantage.
Macc held a slender but important lead at the break, looking to build on that and add a second soon after the restart.
Runcorn started the brighter though, with Ryan Brooke equalising for the visitors midway through the half.
