AN UNLIKELY SOURCE SEES MACC AVOID RARE DEFEAT

SAM Heathcote’s first goal of the season saw NPL leaders Macclesfield salvage a valuable point away at play-off chasing Hebburn Town in their push to secure an early automatic promotion.
Late goals were a theme on this occasion during a scrappy encounter where neither side was able to put clear daylight between themselves and ambitious opponents.
Hebburn broke the deadlock right before half-time as Liam Noble curled an effort through a crowd of bodies, beating Silkmen goalkeeper Max Dearnley.
