LANCASTER CITY edged closer to safety with a hard-earned goalless draw.
The first opportunity of the game fell to Lancaster after 10 minutes when Crispin McLean created the space to fire a shot, but it flew over the crossbar.
A corner gave Lancaster another chance after 24 minutes but Conor Haughey’s header towards goal was deflected over the cross bar by Lewis Mansell.
Morpeth’s only real chance of the first half fell to Luke James three minutes before the break but his long range shot was off target.
