EVO-STIK League Southern Premier club Kettering Town have secured a new 25-year lease to remain at Latimer Park.

The Poppies have been playing at their current ground in Burton Latimer for the past three seasons after moving in with United Counties League side Burton Wanderers.

And they have confirmed the long-term lease with their current one-year deal scheduled to be up at the end of the season.

Last week it was revealed the club had made a request to list their former Rockingham Road ground – which they left in 2011 – as an asset of community value which could give the Poppies the ability to bid should the land be sold.

A club statement read: “The board would like to announce that an agreement has been reached with the land owner of Latimer Park, for Kettering Town FC to lease the ground and club house for a period of 25 years.

“This will not affect the use of the site by BPW or Burton Boxing Club. More details on this and the planned ground improvements will be issued at the end of season fans forum (date to be announced).”
