A SEVENTH-MINUTE goal by Tendi Quamina was the decider in a grim and gritty affair. Four minutes after the goal both sides were reduced to 10 men as Witham’s Liam Whipps and Redbridge’s Jack Chawner received red cards.
Luke Ige shot wide for Witham and Deese Kasinga-Madia headed just over after good work by Freddie King and Archie McFadden.
Little was seen of the Redbridge attack, but Witham goalkeeper Harry Fairs did well to save a free-kick from Joseph Elliott.
