Former Cobham boss Leigh Dynan takes the reins at Ryman South side Whyteleafe

FORMER West Ham player Leigh Dynan says it is a “privilege” to be named the new manager of Ryman South outfit Whyteleafe.

The 43-year-old has been appointed as the Leafe’s new boss, replacing John Fowler who departed earlier this month following three years at the helm.

Dynan was on the books of West Ham as a youngster until injury forced him to step down into the Non-League game with Fisher Athletic, Carshalton Athletic and Walton Casuals.

Following the end of his playing career, he joined Farnborough as their reserve team manager in 2012 and became assistant manager at the club later that year.

He also has previous management experience with Combined Counties League side Cobham and he has now been tasked with guiding Whyteleafe up the Ryman South table.

“It is a privilege to be given the job at Whyteleafe and I am excited to be joining such a highly respected and professionally run club,” Dynan told the club’s website.

“My ideas and ambition match those of the club and I’m looking forward to bringing a level of success that ensures that players, fans and everybody involved in the running of the club is proud to be a part of Whyteleafe FC.”
