John Rooney cleared to play after successful appeal against dismissal

John Rooney is all set to turn out for at Dagenham & tonight after a successful appeal against his dismissal in Saturday's 4-2 defeat at .
The Bluebirds lodged an appeal against the straight red card he was shown just before the break at Plainmoor for handball inside the box.
The sides had been locked on 1-1 before the Gulls took the lead from the resulting penalty before going on to win on a frustrating afternoon for the Bluebirds and boss Ian Evatt.

A Bluebirds statement read: “Following an appeal, John Rooney's red card against Torquay United on Saturday has been overturned.
“The FA confirmed on Monday evening that our appeal had been successful, meaning the Bluebirds will have their key man available for our clash with at Victoria Road.”
Before the appeal, Evatt told nwemail.co.uk: “Everyone here has seen what's happened. I can't say much as I don't want to get in trouble. He has made a superb tackle and he certainly hasn't stopped it going in with his hand.”
“We will definitely appeal and if there is any justice we will win that appeal. Their players came off the pitch shaking their heads in disbelief at half-time.”
