CHIPPENHAM Town are celebrating their rise of their latest top talent – goalkeeper Ben Hughes.

The Bluebirds propelled the career of England defender Tyrone Mings with a £10,000 move to Ipswich Town in 2012.

Now they have seen 17-year-old shot-stopper Hughes join Championship promotion hopefuls Swansea City on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Hughes trialled with the Welsh club last month and needed just three training sessions to convince the Swans to offer him a contract.

He is a product of Chippenham’s Academy, having made history by becoming the first player from grassroots football to be called up to the Wales Under-18 team.
