OLLIE Pearce’s first coach was glowing with praise as the York City forward was named the Sports Circle Player of the Year at The Non-League Paper’s National Game Awards, in association with Isuzu.
The 29-year-old plundered 34 goals in the National League this season to propel the Minstermen back into the EFL via a titanic final-day tussle with fellow centurions Rochdale, earning himself his second consecutive Player of the Year award.
