Bobby Wilkinson leaves Wealdstone

Wealdstone have announced that manager Bobby Wilkinson has left the club with immediate effect for “non-footballing reasons”. 
Wilkinson had been in the hot seat at Gorsvenor Vale since August 2017 and guided the club to the National League South play-offs this season, following an 11th place finish last year.
The Stones suffered heartbreak last weekend as they threw away a 2-0 lead at Woking to crash out of the play-offs at the semi-final stage, with Jake Hyde grabbing a last gasp winner for the Cards at the Kingfield Stadium.
Before taking the job at Wealdstone, Wilkinson spent seven seasons in charge of Hungerford, where he successfully guided the Crusaders to Step 2 level.

A statement on the club’s official website read, “Wealdstone Football Club can confirm today it has parted company with First Team Manager, Bobby Wilkinson with immediate effect for non-footballing reasons.

Whilst the club deeply regrets this outcome, we would like to place on record our thanks for the contribution that Bobby, and his management team, have made during their time at the club. Under Bobby’s management the club reached the semi-final of the FA Trophy in 2018 and the National League South play-off semi-final this season and we wish Bobby every success in the future”
