Chorley back at the summit as Christmas approaches

The visiting Darlington side took a surprise lead just before half time as Andrew nicked the ball in midfield before capping off a good run with a pinpoint finish past the outstretched Matthew Urwin.
However, Chorley looked like a changed team in the second half and secured the three points during a stunning 13 minutes of play as goals from Marcus Carver, Abdy Teague and Alex Newby turned the game on it's head.
A late Nelson strike ensured that it would be a nearvy final few minutes for Vermiglio's team but The Magpies held on for a vital win.
Speaking after the game, the Chorley boss expressed his delighted at the result and praised the performance of stand in goalkeeper Danny Eccles who made a number of important second half saves.
“We've been below our best recently but after two draws and two wins the picture is looking rosier” said Vermiglio
“The boys have worked incredibly hard today but I want to praise reserve keeper Danny Eccles who has had to come on at half-time and been outstanding in making two exceptional saves”
Chorley, who are now sitting above Bradford Park Avenue on goal difference, will be looking to consolidate their position at the top of the North when they face play-off chasing at Victory Park on Saturday afternoon.
