BUSY striker George Gaskin had a Boxing Day to remember after scoring two hat-tricks for two different teams!

Gaskin started the day with a treble for Littlehampton Town in their 4-1 victory at Worthing United in the Southern Combination League Premier.

The former Marigolds player-boss then dashed along the A24 from the 11am kick-off to join his new team-mates at Horsham as they hosted Ryman South bottom club Godalming Town at 2pm.

Despite being a step up the Non-League Pyramid, Gaskin made his second appearance look as easy as the first.

Gaskin, who only signed joint-registration terms with Horsham on Christmas Eve, was introduced with 15 minutes remaining and he duly made the perfect first impression, stunning supporters with a rapid hat-trick – his fifth of the season.

The Hornets ended up winning the game 8-1 and Gaskin’s goals helped the club notch up their highest ever victory in the Isthmian League.

The striker has 33 goals to his name so far this campaign; 21 for Shoreham, nine for Littlehampton and three now for Horsham.

Horsham have confirmed that the last Hornets player to score three goals on his Isthmian League debut was Paul ‘Flash’ Harris’ on the opening day of the 1992-93 campaign.

The history books are now being flicked through to see if Gaskin’s feat has been achieved by anybody before in Non-League.
